Summary

To put it simply, I am in love with the Honey Stinger Organic Cracker Bar. It’s the perfect bar for all your outdoor adventures. I’ve tried a lot of rivaling bars (Luna, Clifbar, Quest, Lara, etc.) and while I wouldn’t consider this a “protein bar” it definitely helps satiate my cravings and keep me fueled and ready to tackle anything. I know I will be including one (or two) of these in my pack on all my future trips!

I toted the Cracker Bar on countless adventures, the first being a backpacking trip to Wing Lake in the North Cascades. I even brought a bar with me when we left our beloved lakeside camp spot and summited Black Peak! This was my first time bringing it on an outdoor adventure – my friends thought it looked so good I ended up sharing one with them! This climb was my hardest to date, with a class 3/4 scramble at the top. You can imagine my excitement once we finally summited! I brought only a few snacks as I was worried about my pack being too heavy – I was so glad I brought the Cracker Bar! It was the perfect summit snack.

Next, I took some Cracker Bars on my birthday hike to Lila Lake in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. I brought both flavors and between my friends and I we ended up eating both! They are great for sharing as the bars are a decent size.

The last summer hike I brought the Cracker Bar on was Blanca Lake near Stevens Pass, WA. This is a grueling 12-mile hike with a lot of elevation gain. After eating the Cracker Bar about half way through the hike I felt rejuvenated and ready to tackle the second half. I was also impressed that the bar didn’t crumble or break since I accidently buried it at the bottom of my pack.

Next, I bought a few Cracker Bars to Gothic Basin in the North Cascades – another tough one! I wanted to bring the bars on tough hikes to see if they could deliver when I need it most. On this hike it was great to see that even though the temps got pretty low the bars didn’t seem to freeze! My friend and I enjoyed one of each flavor at the top before being forced to leave due to bone-chilling winds.

And while on the subject of bone-chilling winds, the next adventure I totes a few bars to is a winter-like jaunt up Mt Ellinor in the Olympics. With a wind-chill in the teens, I was pleasantly surprised that the Cracker Bar was not hard as a rock by the time we summited.

My last and most recent trip I included the Cracker Bar in my snack pack was up to an alpine lake high in the Pasayten Wilderness. With close to 3,000 ft of elevation gain in three miles I knew this hike was going to be a challenge, which is why I packed the Cracker Bar in my hip belt pocket. We started to hike in the wee hours in the morning, hoping to reach the lake by sunrise. There are few bars that sound remotely appetizing at 4:00 AM…the Honey Stinger Organic Cracker Bar is one of them! I noshed on it right as we were heading out on the trail and it kept me satisfied most of the way up.
