ProView – Spy Optic Allure W/ Happy Lens

I’ve been wearing the Spy Optic Allure Mint Chip Fade with Happy Bronze Polar lenses non-stop recently. These sunglasses have the new Spy Optic Happy Lens, rubber nose pads and temple tips, and are durably built with ‘virtually indestructible’ Grilamid®.

With 100% UV protection and a filter category of 3 (8-18% visible light transmission: for use in bright light conditions), the quality of the lenses are very apparent. The glasses also come with a separate leash and easy attachment clips.

What’s neat about the Happy LensTM is how they are ‘the only color and contrast enhancing lens technology’ to let maximum light through while combating harmful rays, and Spy even references studies that this can uplift mood and heighten alertness.

But since they are only meant for bright conditions, they do not transfer well to low-light conditions, which is not really an issue, it just means I take them off and put them back on during the day, particularly at work. Style wise, these glasses work well during a variety of activities from casual outings, to bike commuting, and even multi-pitch rock climbing.

My only true issue with the glasses is the fit. They seem to be a one-size-fits all frame, and frankly my head is too small for them to fit perfectly. They fit my fiancé quite well, so for the females, make sure you pay attention to the frame measurement in the product description. Without the leash to cinch them tight to my head, they would be fall off. Frame Measures: 63-15-120

Pros

  • Quality lens
  • True to color
  • Comes with its owns leash
  • Lightweight
  • Versatility: great for active or casual activity
  • Comfortable nose pads

Cons

  • Only comes in one size and is too large for me.
  • Leash attachment is at the arm ends as opposed to closer to the lens. Being at the end of the arms, it’s easier to get caught up on the ears when putting the glasses on.

Overall, these glasses are great and I use them every day. They make for an excellent ‘viewing experience,’ where colors and contrast are not lost by wearing a tinted lens. You can learn more about the Happy LensTM technology here.
