ProView – Native Eyewear Wells Sunglasses

The Wells is one of Native’s new sunglasses, fulfilling a vital role in both their lifestyle and performance lines. It is a necessity that sunglasses fill the role of performance fit and functionality while looking good enough to protect your eyeball on a first date or a day spent ripping laps at your favorite honey hole.

Upon the completion of this review, I will be approximately 12 weeks out of shoulder surgery. I received these bad boys right after being cleared to once again run, backpack, fly-fish with my dominant hand, and paddle a canoe on flat water! To say the least, I had been going insane and hearing those sweet words flow from the mouth of my doctor was like the opening of a department store on the morning of Black Friday. You betcha, I went crazy doing the things I had been deprived of forever, well, ten weeks. This necessary accessory accompanied me on a few day canoe trip in Yellowstone National Park, helped me land my first fish since surgery, protected my eyeballs during multiple runs, and held on tight during the traverse of the Bridger Range in South West Montana!

Fit and Comfort

I have a hard time finding glasses that fit my big head well without looking weird or giving me a headache. These glasses hugged really well to the curvature of my head and face without looking overly tight like a lot of sport specific sunglasses can. They held very well when running which can be very hard to find in stylish glasses.

Look and Style

These sunglasses really do look good enough to take on a first date but hug well enough to run in! Finding a good looking pair of sunglasses that also perform well is a hard duo to find.

Features

All Native Eyewear sunglasses are backed by their lifetime limited warranty. These glasses are also equipped with Mastoid Temple Grips that hold better than any sunglasses I have yet owned. They come with a hard carrying case as well as a soft sleeve. They are constructed with eco-friendly material and have N3 lens technology which is “the most innovative and advanced polarized lens on the market,” according to Native.

Function

Their lenses did do a fantastic job of minimizing glare from the water, enhancing my vision of the fish binging below, now whether or not I caught said fish is a question for another time. I was happily surprised with how minimally they fogged run after run. This is a problem that normally haunts me so finding some shades that fog less was a relief.

Durability

At this point, I have not had any issues with bad construction or weakness what so ever. The “Co-Injected Rhyno-Tuff^® Air Frames” seem to be very durable and not something I have worried about! Like any sunglasses, some precaution must be made to keep the lenses from scratching and there is no exception with the Wells. I have always been very hard on my gear and am happy to find a pair of shades that I do not have to worry too much about!

The Final Word

In conclusion, The Wells by Native is a great pair of sunnies that I would recommend to a friend. Their fit is superb, they are strong and stylish, and they protect your eyes. They could have a different cut to give them a few more style points but Native has other frames with this squared off cut. With five combinations of lenses and frames, they should have an option to fit everyone’s style choices.
