ProView – Julbo Elevate Sunglasses
I received Julbo’s Elevate sunglasses in May- just in time for the beginning of mountain biking season! Living in the front range, I have access to tons of trails, some right in my backyard. I took these glasses on sunny, flowy rides in Lyons, shaded tours in Winter Park, and crowded, sweaty excursions in Boulder. No matter the style of ride, they were reliable and durable.

Jubo describes these sunglasses as “ideal for escaping into nature…Rounded lines and the curved temples of the frame gently adjust to the smallest faces. The Double Rubber system provides a secure and comfortable fit whatever the conditions. The Reactiv photochromic lens option will immediately adapt your sun protection for optimal vision. Laid-back and sporty in equal measure.”
The curved temples create a great grip on your face so they don’t slip around as you shift positions, and I can’t speak highly enough about the quality of the lenses. I’ve spent years stopping during rides to adjust- sunglasses on, sunglasses off, back on again. These glasses completely eliminate that need. I was curious how effective they would be, so I wore them around the house, and the lenses turned almost completely clear and I had no trouble seeing at all.
I’ve also taken to wearing these glasses casually as well. A few weekends ago, a friend and I packed up the car and headed down to Utah on Friday afternoon after work. We spent Saturday exploring with the dogs, who had some fun testing these glasses out as well! The trip was super mellow, and I barely ever took the glasses off. They adjust so seamlessly that it’s easy to forget you’re even wearing them.
In my years of guiding I have gone through at least a dozen pairs of sunglasses. Many wear out due to extensive use, others have cracked when exposed to frigid temperatures. Overall, I was really pleased with these glasses and would recommend them in a heartbeat. They’re sporty, stylish, and built really well.
