“My favorite features of the vest are the low profile minimalistic design that Ultimate Direction used in this hydration vest along with a total of seven pockets to store items, one being a zippered pocket so your car keys don’t go missing on the trail. The polyester mesh material for the body of the vest combined with a nylon/spandex mix for the pockets allows for a lightweight vest which allows for good ventilation during runs. The Marathon Vest overall cuts weight by not having large plastic clips for the sternum straps or multiple plastic tube traps for the hydration bladder tube – every gram adds up – and in the end, the Marathon Vest weighs in at only 4.8 ounces. Lastly, I like the high visibility color for road runs as well as when I run on public lands this fall and share the trails with hunters.”
