ProView – Rhamani Classic Adventure Sandal

The Rhamani sandal is marketed as a versatile and lightweight sandal, and the product definitely fits that description. All of the backpackers that I’ve talked to about these sandals have said that they’ve considered getting them as a backpacking sandal, and I can see why. The sandals look a bit bulky but they barely weigh anything, and they would be easy to clip on to a backpack.

Summary

Overall, I think this is a good sandal and I will definitely be bringing them along with me when I camp and hike. They would probably make a great shoe for playing in a river or lake as well. I am sure that I will enjoy having basically four sandals in one instead of switching between different shoes. I am excited to have these sandals for upcoming adventures!

Features

It is a little difficult to test out sandals in the winter, but I did get to take them on an adventure! I received them right before I went on a trip for my 30th birthday where I rented a tiny home with a hot tub for a few days. I brought these sandals along to use between the hot tub and the house, so the ability to turn them into slip-on sandals without a toe strap or heel strap really came in handy. It was easy to find the videos that show how to adjust the straps. I am a little worried about losing the strap tool, but I suppose I could use a popsicle stick or something similar to adjust the straps.

Of course, the most unique thing about Rhamani sandals is that they are so customizable. I personally am not much of a fan of toe straps, so I like that I can wear them without it. I also like to have a heel strap when I’m walking, but taking the heel strap off made these turn into great slip-on sandals for around the house.

Fit/Comfort

I am impressed with how much cushion is in the sole, making them very comfortable. I almost feel like there is an extra pep in my step with these shoes! I am definitely looking forward to taking these on hikes or long walks in warmer weather. I also appreciate the support that the curves of this sandal provide.

Durability/Construction

I am worried that the groove in the bottom of the shoe will accumulate a lot of mud and pebbles. There are instructions on the Rhamani website for how to keep the sandals clean, but it seems like it may require constant cleaning. The straps seem like they will hold up for a long time, but the sole is so light and cushioned that it seems like it could snap in half, so I’m not sure how durable they will be.

Friendliness to the Earth

I appreciate that these sandals were delivered with no plastic packaging, except for the plastic strap tool which is supposed to be saved and used with the shoe. I am not sure what these shoes are made of or how that impacts the environment. Rhamani does claim on its website that they are helping the environment by not using glue to anchor anything on this shoe. These sandals use friction and tension to keep the straps in place instead.

The Final Word

Overall, I think this is a good sandal and I will definitely be bringing them along with me when I camp and hike. They would probably make a great shoe for playing in a river or lake as well. I am sure that I will enjoy having basically four sandals in one instead of switching between different shoes. I am excited to have these sandals for upcoming adventures!

I feel like there’s an obvious comparison to an incredibly similar sandal that’s been around for years that wasn’t addressed in this review… would have been nice to hear how they compare.

Thanks for your comment James! I checked in with Brenna and she doesn’t own a pair of Chacos but agree that it would be a good comparison!
