A True Adventure Sock For Wherever Your Travels Take You

From backcountry touring in the Wasatch, powder days in Jackson Hole, and snowshoeing the trails out my backdoor, my Moarri socks by Wigwam certainly did not disappoint. I thoroughly tested three versions of this sock, the ultralight, lightweight, and midweight. As a ski guide, the last thing I want are cold feet and with three weights to choose from, the Moarri socks keep my feet nice and warm no matter the conditions.

Performance

The socks fits great. True to size and even better after a wash or two. A great cushioned cuff and calf area, solid arch support, and above all warmth. Bonus, the ultralight socks are even made of 11% Repreve® which is a smooth fiber made from recycled water bottles! I often struggle with socks getting bunched up in the toe box of my boots but didn’t seem to be an issue with any of the Wigwam socks. Build quality is top notch as you can see from my close-up photos of the stitching. As for the long haul, that is yet to be determined but in my two months of testing, they have held up great. Kept their form after many washes and no signs of fading. I did see a bit of pilling on the heavier socks after a few washes but I tend to just throw all my clothes into one load despite color or type so I was probably asking for this.

Ultralight

While I think these are a bit too light to ski or tour in (I tend to run cold), they were excellent for an evening snowshoe adventure in a pair of heavy, insulated, Salomon boots. Come summer I think these will make excellent hiking, and maybe even cycling, socks! Ultralight also means super packable for those weight weenies! The Repreve® soles of these socks are really cool looking, almost shiny, and unlike any other sock I’ve ever had. It’s a bit of unique feel at first but one I came to enjoy. If you’re looking for a great pair of summer hiking socks or just run warm and prefer a thin sock in the winter, these ultralight (and eco-friendly) Moarri socks will not disappoint!

Lightweight

Possibly the best go-to inbounds ski day sock ever. I found the lightweight sock comparable to the weight of many industry standard, ski specific, socks. Not too thick, not too thin. Excellent arch support and an awesome two toned grey color (I am known to wear a lot of grey). These met all expectations at the end of an inbounds powder day at Jackson Hole. They didn’t even smell bad at the end of the day thanks to the Ultimax® moisture control! For an all day, first chair to last chair, non-stinky sock, the lightweight Moarri will fit the bill just fine!

Midweight

It’s been quite a cold winter here in the Wasatch. The midweight Moarri sock was my choice for a chilly, windy, day in the backcountry. Hiking ridgelines, to skinning up some of the best lines in the Wasatch, my feet were never cold. Paired the with right boot, these midweight socks seem to be able to tackle anything winter can bring. Great arch support just like the other two and excellent padding where you want it. For the coldest of winter days, or if you just run cold in general, the midweight Moarri sock should become your new go-to!

No matter the conditions, the Wigwam Moarri sock will have you covered wherever your adventures may take you. Never too cold, too stinky, and even eco-friendly!
